We first caught wind of this honorary Bostonian (known IRL as Dylan Hanwright) through his (now defunct) band I Kill Giants, an emotional punk group widely coveted in DIY circles a couple years back. Though he studied Electronic Production & Design and Video Game Scoring at Berklee College of Music, he’s deeply rooted in punk rock, citing Emperor X and The Brave Little Abacus as artists that inspire him to write better music. These days, you may also happen upon him ripping it with Great Grandpa and Trashlord. But with Slothfella, his musical explorations range from chiptune to synthpop, simultaneously navigating the aural realms of video games; and somehow even shades of vaporwave find their way to emerge in the work. Enjoy the latest EP, mud kid, here.
